Volunteers are essential partners in the mission of the Murphy Shelter, contributing their time, talents, and resources to provide compassionate care and support to individuals experiencing homelessness or crisis.
Murphy Shelter aims to provide not only physical necessities but also spiritual guidance and support to their residents. Volunteers who share the same faith can offer prayer, Bible study, and spiritual mentoring to those seeking spiritual growth and renewal.
"Is it not to share your bread with the hungry, And that you bring to your house the poor who are cast out; When you see the naked, that you cover him, And not hide yourself from your own flesh?" - Isaiah 58:7 NKJV
There are many ways to be involved in this ministry; below are a few examples. Please feel free to contact us with questions.
The Thrift Store contributes financially to the Murphy Homeless Shelter. We rely on volunteers to help assist in the maintenance and operations of the thrift store. They assist with operational support, customer service, inventory management, visual merchandising, fundraising and community engagement.
