Emergency Overnight
Traditional Housing
We provide families, men, and women with temporary shelter. Our goal is to help those we shelter return to the community as productive members as soon as possible. We provide our guests with physical, emotional, and spiritual support, which includes help with developing and prioritizing goals.
The following are needed for admission.
- A Photo Identification
- Must be able to pass a drug screen
- Be willing and able to do chores
- Pass a background check
- No sex offenders accepted at any time
- Must be willing to abide by all rules
"Code Purple"
On severe cold weather nights, it is extremely dangerous to be sleeping out in the cold. On these nights we issue a "Code Purple". This indicates that we are opening the common area of the shelter to allow people to take cover without the usual screenings. We provide a clean environment and breakfast the following morning. We ask those needing “Code Purple” to please arrive between 4:30pm - 9pm. After 9pm, please check with the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office or Murphy Police Department as they may accompany you to the shelter. During "Code Purple" nights, every page of our website will indicate it on a top alert banner. For questions, please call 828-837-2654.
